Influenza activity is now moderate in all regions served by HMH. Please see below the NJDOH Influenza Surveillance Report for the week ending December 2, 2023 (MMWR week 48).

Report Highlights:

  • Influenza activity level is low statewide.
  • Emergency Department visits associated with influenza-like illness are higher than last week and lower than this week last year.
  • Outpatient provider visits associated with influenza-like illness are also higher than last week and lower than this week last year.
  • There have been zero confirmed influenza-associated pediatric deaths reported this season.
  • Of the four influenza outbreaks reported this season, one was in the last three weeks.
  • Positive results continue to be reported; influenza A (subtyping not performed) is at 63.68%, followed by A (H1N1)pdm09 (22.08%), B (11.65%), and A(H3N2) (2.59%).
  • Among the subtyped influenza viruses this season the most frequently reported is A (H1N1)pdm09.
