Influenza Surveillance Report - January 20 2024
What You Need To Know
Highlights from the January 20 NJDOH Influenza Surveillance Report include:
- Influenza activity level is at a high statewide.
- Emergency Department visits associated with influenza-like illness are lower than last week and higher than this week last year.
- Outpatient provider visits associated with influenza-like illness are also lower than last week and higher than this week last year.
- There have been two confirmed influenza-associated pediatric deaths reported this season.
- Of the 66 influenza outbreaks reported this season, 29 were in the last three weeks.
- Positive results continue to be reported; influenza A (subtyping not performed) is at 66.12%, followed by A (H1N1)pdm09 (20.30%), B (9.82%), and A(H3N2) (3.77%).
- Among the subtyped influenza viruses this season the most frequently reported is A (H1N1)pdm09.
