Please find below the NJDOH Influenza Surveillance Report for the week ending March 16, 2024 (MMWR week 11).

Report Highlights:

  • Influenza activity level is at high statewide.
  • Emergency Department visits associated with influenza-like illness are lower than last week and higher than this week last year.
  • Outpatient provider visits associated with influenza-like illness are also lower than last week and higher than this week last year.
  • There have been two confirmed influenza-associated pediatric deaths reported this season.
  • Of the 163 influenza outbreaks reported this season, 30 were in the last three weeks.
  • Positive results continue to be reported; influenza A (subtyping not performed) is at 57.66%, followed by B (20.85%), A (H1N1)pdm09 (15.69%), and A(H3N2) (5.81%).
  • Among current circulating influenza viruses, the most frequently reported is Influenza B.
