What you need to know
E-Prescribing will undergo a one-hour downtime so maintenance can be performed to meet federal guidelines.
During the downtime, clinicians will be unable to ePrescribe or make any requests for Medical History or Pharmacy Eligibility through Surescripts. During the downtime, clinicians should print paper prescriptions.

The following updates will take effect once the update is complete:
- e-Prescribed Sig Limit greater than 140 characters: Some pharmacies will be able to receive a sig greater than 140 characters. However, if a provider is prescribing to a pharmacy that is still on script version 10.6, the sig limit will still be 140 characters. Order validation will explain if the provider can create a sig longer than 140 characters.
- Redirect Refill Requests to Another Provider: Providers will be able to proactively indicate whether refill requests for an order should go to them or if they should automatically be redirected to specific providers, such as the patient’s PCP.
