K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital

K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center is the first and most comprehensive provider of pediatric care in the region. The hospital is supported by over 130 pediatric sub-specialists who work together with community pediatricians to deliver the most complete and coordinated care for kids in our communities. Whether it’s a complex surgery, emergency situation, or treatment for a chronic condition, the team of physicians, nurses and caregivers at K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital treat each child as one of their own in a friendly and convenient setting, close to home.

The facility is one of only nine state-designated acute care children’s hospitals in New Jersey. It includes a 24-hour pediatric emergency department and intensive and acute care units. The acute care inpatient service includes two units with 31 private rooms featuring a fun, fresh design inspired by life at the shore. The expanded Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) includes 10 private rooms, and enables the hospital to provide the most advanced health services for the region’s sickest children. The hospital also offers a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with 13 beds and nine private bassinet rooms, along with a dedicated antepartum unit. The specially trained professionals in the NICU ensure that the critical needs of the most vulnerable newborns are met, and provide the best care available for women experiencing high-risk pregnancies.

Dedicated Child Life specialists are a critical component at K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital. The team creates a fun and positive environment that supports families, helps to alleviate the stress associated with illness, and ultimately allows kids to be kids.

As part of a comprehensive network of pediatric specialists at K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital and throughout Hackensack Meridian Health, families have access to experts in more than 25 different specialty areas. They include allergy, cardiology, psychiatry, neonatology, infectious disease, nephrology, urology, sports medicine, concussion management, gastroenterology, endocrinology, pulmonology, general surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, sleep medicine, rheumatology, hematology/oncology and more.
