Hackensack Meridian Health is launching a new fellowship for training doctors in healthcare leadership: the Hospital Medicine Fellowship Program.
The fellowship aims to align clinical practice and leadership, by providing future hospitalist leaders with the skills necessary to integrate clinical care at the bedside into strategic decision-making. HMH and Envision Physician Services have collaboratively developed the program, which aims to welcome its first fellow in July 2026.
The fellowship, located at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, has one- and two- year tracks. All candidates have the option to earn a Master's degree through the program.
The program is led by Mohamed Bakr, M.D., MBA, FACP, CPE, the vice president of hospital medicine - East Region for Envision, as well as an attending physician at Jersey Shore.
