Ramonita Jimnez Named Chief Nursing Officer for Hackensack University Medical Center

Ramonita Jiménez, DNP, MPA, RN, NEA-BC, is the new Chief Nursing Officer for Hackensack University Medical Center, effective January 23, 2022. Ramonita has been serving as interim Chief Nursing Officer for the medical center since May 2021. 

Ramonita has over 35 years of administrative and clinical experience, including 12 years at Hackensack University Medical Center, where she initially served as the Administrative Director of Nursing and then as Administrator of the Department of Patient Care. Under her leadership, the medical center established a formalized New Graduate RN Internship Program to support retention efforts, advanced the RN 36 Hour Work Week Project to enhance work-life balance, implemented strategies to improve discharge times and reduce length of stay, and incorporated Hospital Team Rounds to improve patient and team member satisfaction. Ramonita previously spent 18 years at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, where she served in various roles, including Director of Perianesthesia Services, Pre and Post-Operative Manager, Clinical Supervisor, and Nurse Manager. She began her career as a staff nurse on a medical-surgical unit at Kennedy Memorial Hospitals in Saddle Brook. 

Ramonita earned a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Rutgers, the State University, a Master’s in Public Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from UMDNJ/Rutgers. She belongs to several professional organizations, including the Organization of Nurse Leaders - New Jersey, where she serves as a Finance Committee member, the American Organization of Nurse Executives, the American College of Healthcare Executives, and as an Advisory Board Member of Felician University. Ramonita is actively involved in community service and volunteers in her church.
