Anticoagulant Medications Will Now Default To The Next Schedule Time

What You Need To Know

  • The scheduling of anticoagulant medications will now default the dose to the next scheduled time.
  • This update prevents unintended doses being administered, potentially causing severe bleeding or other adverse drug reactions.
  • Previously, if the dose being ordered fell within a specific time frame, the first dose would default to be given immediately, potentially causing doses to be given earlier than the clinician intended.
