Tilak Pasala MD Joins Hackensack Meridian Health Medical Group
Tilak K. R. Pasala, M.D., an interventional cardiologist who specializes in structural and congenital heart disease, has joined Hackensack Meridian Health Medical Group.
Dr. Pasala is the associate director of the Structural and Congenital Heart Program at Hackensack University Medical Center and is also the director of the Structural Heart Disease (SHD) Fellowship program. He is a board certified interventional cardiologist who is one of the few in the country who has completed a two-year dedicated specialized fellowship in structural and congenital heart disease.

Dr. Pasala provides the following treatments:

- MitralClip (mitral and tricuspid valves)
- Patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure
- Atrial and ventricular septal defect (ASD and VSD) closure
- Paravalvular leak closure
- Left atrial appendage closure (Watchman device)
- Alcohol septal ablation for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
- Pulmonary valve replacement
Dr. Pasala is an active member of the multi-disciplinary heart physician team that reviews and determines the clinical direction of all structural heart disease interventions performed. His focus is on utilizing evidence-based medicine to improve his patients’ overall health.
