Council of the International Society of Surgery Elects Alexander Shifrin MD as a Fellow

The Council of the International Society of Surgery (ISS/SIC) has elected Jersey Shore’s Alexander Shifrin, M.D., FACS, FACE, ECNU, FEBS, FISS as a Fellow of the International Society of Surgery (ISS/SIC).
Dr. Shifrin’s Fellowship will be awarded at the Convocation Ceremony during the 48th World Congress of Surgery in August in Poland.
Additionally, Dr. Shifrin is Editor of the newly available Atlas of Adrenal Surgery. This atlas is the first single source to provide information on technique for adrenal glands surgery. In addition as serving as editor for the inaugural atlas, Dr. Shifrin also contributed to its two chapters on Right and Left Posterior Retroperitoneoscopic Adrenalectomies.

About Dr. Shifrin
Dr. Shifrin is Director of Endocrine Oncology at Hackensack Meridian Health as well as the Surgical Director for the Center for Thyroid, Parathyroid and Adrenal Diseases at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. A board-certified, fellowship trained endocrine surgeon, Dr. Shifrin specializes in surgery of parathyroid, thyroid, and adrenal glands, performing more than 400 minimally invasive thyroid and parathyroid surgeries a year, and more than 15 adrenal surgeries a year (including posterior retroperitoneoscopic approach).
