HMH Clinicians Contribute to New Book on Endocrinology

Several Hackensack Meridian Health clinicians are contributors to the new book, "Advances in Treatment and Management in Surgical Endocrinology" (Elsevier). Dr. Alexander Shifrin, Director of Endocrine Oncology at Hackensack Meridian Health System, and Surgical Director, Center for Thyroid, Parathyroid and Adrenal Diseases, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, served as editor and the following chapters:

- Chapter 6. “Brief Overview of Calcium, Vitamin D, Parathyroid Hormone Metabolism and Calcium Sensing Receptor Function.”
- Chapter 7. “Update on Diagnosis and Surgical Management of Primary Hyperparathyroidism.”
- Chapter 12. “Advances in the Diagnosis and Management of Primary Hyperparathyroidism During Pregnancy.”
And co-authored an additional chapter:
