David Kountz MD MBA FACP Named Cochair of the National Minority Cardiovascular Alliance
David Kountz, M.D., MBA, FACP has been named co-chair of the National Minority Cardiovascular Alliance with Fatima Rodriguez, M.D., MPH, professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at Stanford University.
The National Minority Cardiovascular Alliance (NMC) is a collaborative initiative that aims to help fill a critical gap in understanding minority cardiovascular health in America.
With guidance from diverse Steering Committee Members, the NMC Alliance is working to address and develop actionable solutions to close the gap in CVD health disparities by making sure the impact of culture, genetics, and socioeconomic status are considered.
I am enthusiastically joining the Alliance and whole-heartedly support its important mission. As someone new to any organization, my primary responsibility is to listen and understand the vision of the Alliance, and those of the members of the steering committee. My personal interests align with the mission of the Alliance, in areas such as the social determinants of health, cardiovascular disease disparities, implicit bias, education, and leadership.
