Ryan K Kaple MD FACC FSCAI Joins Hackensack University Medical Center as New Director of Structural Congenital Heart Program
Ryan K. Kaple, M.D., FACC, FSCAI is joining Hackensack University Medical Center as the new Director of the Structural & Congenital Heart Program.
Dr. Kaple is board certified in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Medicine and Internal Medicine and specializes in minimally invasive mitral and tricuspid valve repair and replacement, transcatheter Edge to Edge Repair (MitraClip), transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), cardiac catheterization, percutaneous coronary interventions and Mechanical circulatory support.
About Dr. Ryan K. Kaple
Prior to Hackensack University Medical Center, Dr. Kaple served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine and as the Director of Mitral and Tricuspid Valve Therapies and the Structural Heart Disease Fellowship Program at Yale School of Medicine. During his time in Connecticut he was also the Director of the VA Connecticut Structural Heart Disease Program.
Dr. Kaple utilizes the latest evidence based medicine and has worked as principal and co-investigator on numerous clinical trials related to heart valve disease. He is viewed as a pioneer in the field of minimally invasive mitral and tricuspid valve therapies.
He has contributed many publications to medical literature including peer-reviewed original research, case reports, and book chapters. He serves on the editorial board for the Journal of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and is a reviewer for both Structural Heart: The Journal of the Heart Team and Cardiology in Review. Dr. Kaple also participates in national lecture series for trainees.
Dr. Kaple obtained his Bachelor from the University of Notre Dame and graduated from Yale University School of Medicine. He completed his residency and internship at the Massachusetts General Hospital and completed a Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the New York Presbyterian Hospital - Weill Cornell.
