Pediatric surgeon Margaret M. McGuire, M.D., FACS, FAAP has joined Hackensack Meridian Children’s Health as a pediatric general surgeon at K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

Dr. McGuire specializes in minimally invasive surgery and is triple board certified in pediatric general surgery, surgical critical care and general surgery. She specializes in minimally invasive surgery, including single-incision laparoscopy, pediatric surgical oncology and surgical procedures to treat congenital abnormalities in newborns. Dr. McGuire is an expert in procedures done laparoscopically via the umbilicus.

About Dr. McGuire

After earning her medical degree at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Dr. McGuire completed a residency in general surgery at the University of Massachusetts, Worcester, as well as a fellowship in surgical critical care at Children's National Medical Center, Washington, D.C.  She additionally completed a fellowship in pediatric surgery at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Dr. McGuire has more than 10 years of patient-care experience at some of the best children’s hospitals in the country and has performed thousands of surgeries. She has also contributed nearly 30 publications to medical literature.
