Tasneem Peeraully, M.D., has joined the team of widely respected neurosurgeons and neurologists at JFK University Medical Center’s Neuroscience Institute and will become an integral part of its Movement Disorders Program. Board certified in neurology and fellowship-trained in movement disorders, Dr. Peeraully evaluates a wide range of neurological conditions, with special interest in Parkinson’s disease, dystonia, essential tremor, corticobasal degeneration, multiple system atrophy, progressive supranuclear palsy, Huntington’s disease, hemifacial spasm, blepharospasm and tic disorders. Dr. Peeraully has extensive training in the application of botulinum toxin and performs botulinum toxin injections for dystonia, spasticity, migraine, hemifacial spasm, blepharospasm, tics, tremor and drooling. She earned her undergraduate degree in neuroscience, her medical degree from University College London and performed her neurology residency at JFK University Medical Center, where she served as chief resident in her final year. Dr. Peeraully pursued her fellowship training in movement disorders at the National Neuroscience Institute in Singapore and at UCLA Medical Center. Previously, Dr. Peeraully was director of movement disorders at the Atlantic Neuroscience Institute, assistant professor at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and director of the school’s Center for Movement Disorders and Neuromodulation.
