  • MitraClip®: Used to reduce mitral valve regurgitation, the MitraClip® device is a minimally invasive approach for patients who are not candidates for invasive surgery. Led by Carlos Ruiz, M.D., the team at Hackensack University Medical Center, and more recently, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, performs the highest volume of MitraClip procedures in New Jersey, and the second-highest in the region.
  • WATCHMAN™ Left Atrial Appendage Closure (LAAC) DeviceImplanted in the heart, the LAAC device closes off the left atrial appendage, which is the source for more than 90 percent of stroke-causing blood clots in people with AFib. The team at Jersey Shore University Medical Center was the first to implant the WATCHMAN™ Device in New Jersey and currently performs the highest volume in the state.
  • Lower Extremity Radial Approach: Hackensack University Medical Center is among the first in the country to perform lower extremity angiograms from a radial approach, versus utilizing the femoral artery.
