Hackensack Selected as Site for Multiple Sclerosis Mental Health Mentorship Program

What you need to know

The Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC) has selected Hackensack to be one of two medical centers in the nation to offer the Mental Health Mini-Mentorship Specialty Training Program for health professionals.

This training provides health professionals with a special interest or specialty in multiple sclerosis with new information about the mental health needs of people with this disease.

About the Mentorship Program

The program takes place at Hackensack from August 5-9 and August 12-16, 2019. Mental health experts will be paired with professionals (e.g., nursing professionals with a mental health background, social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists) who are contemplating a focus on multiple sclerosis mental health care, or are one to three years into their specialty careers.

Mentors will share their knowledge and experience with their MS Mental Health Mini-Mentorship trainees over the five-day mentorship experience.

Two trainees will be awarded an additional scholarship to attend the CMSC Annual Meeting in May 2020 in Orlando, Fla.
