Last month, I gave one of the key note addresses at the 360 Intuitive Summit. More than a thousand health care executives and physicians from all over the world gathered in Florida for the two-day event. Hackensack Meridian Health’s robotic program is one of the best in the world.
A Robotic Pioneer
Back in 2000, Hackensack University Medical Center was the third hospital in the country to purchase a da Vinci System. It later became the first official da Vinci Training Center, and was the first in our area to complete a urologic single port procedure. Hackensack’s knowledge and experience was leveraged to help grow robotic surgery throughout the network.

An International Leader
Hackensack Meridian Health is one of four locations for da Vinci’s ENRICH Program for 2019, an on-site training program for other institutions looking to create a robotics program.
The robotics program at Hackensack Meridian Health is unlike any other. Our program is centered around the quadruple aim – increasing patient satisfaction, improving patient outcomes, reducing cost, and improving physician satisfaction. Additionally, Hackensack is one of the few hospitals in the country with a robotic perioperative team available 24/7. This emphasis on the patient, physician, and data is basis for the robotics work we’re doing throughout the network.
Our robotics experts are publishing studies, developing new techniques, and making new discoveries every day. It was my honor to present their accomplishments last month.
