Jersey Shore Named Behavioral Health Home from The Joint Commission

What you need to know

The Behavioral Health Home at Jersey Shore University Medical Center has received The Joint Commission (TJC) Certification.

This optional certification goes above and beyond what is required for accreditation and provides additional recognition for behavioral health services.

The Behavioral Health Home at Jersey Shore focuses on the integration and coordination of physical and behavioral health care to help decrease high rates of morbidity and mortality of individuals with serious mental illness/behavioral health conditions and also dealing with (or at risk for) chronic medical conditions.

Team members celebrate Jersey Shore being named Behavioral Health Home from The Joint Commission. Pictured from left to right: Kim Olenczuk, RN-BC, population health manager; Kerry L. Leopold, M.D., corporate medical director, Integrative Health and Medicine and Melissa Card-Worbel, LPC, care coordinator

Jersey Shore's team facilitates and coordinates the psychiatric and mental care of Behavioral Health Home members, whether they receive that care at one of our facilities or elsewhere in the community.

Congratulations to the Behavioral Health team for achieving this awesome certification!
