Largest Class of Residents Graduate from Ocean University Medical Center

Hackensack Meridian Ocean University Medical Center held its second annual Resident Graduation Ceremony June 17.

The 2021-2022 class of 35 residents included: eight Family Medicine, five General Psychiatry, eight Internal Medicine, twelve Transitional Year and two first-year Pharmacy resident graduates. This ceremony also marked the inaugural graduation for the internal medicine, transitional year, general psychiatry and pharmacy residency programs. 

In 2018, OUMC established its inaugural residency program and to date, the program has grown to 90 residents in a growing clinical academic program.  On July 1, the program will increase to 120 residents including four fellows in Sleep Medicine and Forensic Psychiatry.

Raritan Bay Medical Center Announces Class of 2022 Medical Residents

Raritan Bay Medical Center is proud to announce the graduates of its 2022 internal medicine residency program: Shankar Chhetri, MD; Bharat Gautam, MD; Umair Mubashar, MD; Layal Nissan, MD; Mahfuz Rahman, MD; Muhammad Shahan Sulehri, MD; Shakeel Yousaf, MD; and Tasneem Yousif, MD.

The internal medicine residency program has eight graduates per year. Thank you to the medical staff of more than 600 who exposed the residents to a wide variety of disciplines. 

The eight graduates now join more than 300 cumulative graduates since the internal medicine residency program’s inception in 1980. 

Largest Class of Resident and Fellow Physicians Graduate from Jersey Shore University Medical Center

Jersey Shore University Medical Center held its annual Resident & Fellow Graduation Ceremony on June 10 in HOPE Tower. Jersey Shore’s faculty and administrators celebrated the graduation of 61 residents in seven specialties and 15 fellows in eight specialties. 

This is the largest graduating class in the medical center’s history.

JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute Announces Class of 2022 Fellowship and Residency Graduates

Four residents and two fellows have graduated from JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute’s Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Residency Program. The Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Residency Program received Five Stars from Doximity’s Residency Navigator.

The residency and fellowship program has many distinguished alumni who now work as medical directors, chairs, and residency directors in hospitals and rehabilitation institutes across the nation. More than 200 residents have completed the program (fully accredited by ACGME) since it began more than 30 years ago. 

The Subspecialty Fellow Graduates Are:

  • Kathryn Altonji, M.D., brain injury 
  • Thomas Salazar, M.D., pain medicine 

The Residency Graduates Are:

  •  Gabrielle Abissi, M.D. 
  •  Elisa Chiu, D.O. 
  •  David Lee, M.D.
