What You Need To Know
- Patients with late-stage melanoma will soon have access to surgical, infusion and clinical services through Hackensack Meridian Riverview Medical Center’s Advanced Melanoma Treatment Program
- The clinic will be the only specialty clinic of its kind in Monmouth County and will be staffed by melanoma experts from Hackensack University Medical Center’s John Theurer Cancer Center.
The clinic will offer:
- Molecular testing to personalize diagnosis and treatment
- On-site infusions
- Screening for clinical trials and enrollment, if eligible
- Same-day surgery, with no hospital stay required

Andrew L. Pecora, MD, FACP, CPE
Chief Innovation Officer, Professor and Vice President of Cancer Services

Dr. Pecora is board-certified in internal medicine and hematology/oncology and is recognized internationally as one of the world’s foremost experts in skin cancer and sarcoma, blood and marrow stem cell transplantation, cellular medicine and immunology research. His current research includes developing vaccines and other cellular therapies to boost the immune system to fight cancer, as well as targeted therapies to destroy cancer cells.
Donald A. McCain, MD, PhD, FACS
Chief of Surgical Oncology and Vice Chairman

Dr. McCain is board-certified in surgical oncology and specializes in treating melanoma, gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, hepatobiliary cancer, sarcomas and micrometastases. A leader in surgical oncology research, Dr. McCain has contributed numerous publications to medical literature and has been recognized throughout his career for research excellence. Additionally, he has performed more than 4,000 lymph node mapping cases and has extensive experience caring for patients with melanoma.
