Jersey Shore University Medical Center’s $45 million cardiovascular service expansion project is underway with a tentative opening set for the 4th quarter this year. When construction is completed the suite, located on the 4th floor of the NorthWest Pavilion, will provide approximately 30,000 square feet of brand new space allowing cardiovascular experts to deliver the high-quality, state-of-the-art care for which the academic medical center is known.
As Monmouth and Ocean counties’ only open heart and minimally invasive cardiac surgery center, Joint Commission-designated Comprehensive Stroke Center, and major academic medical center, JUSMC provides the community with advanced structural heart, electrophysiology (EP) and emergency heart attack and stroke treatment options, as well as groundbreaking patient clinical trials and newly-approved cardiovascular devices.
The suite will enhance the growing community’s access to expert cardiologists in minimally invasive interventional, EP, and structural heart procedures, and advanced technologies and treatments. The suite features new diagnostic and treatment spaces, including; four dedicated cardiac catheterization labs, four EP labs and two hybrid operating rooms, and a 28-bay patient prep and recovery area that nearly triples current patient capacity. The design and functionality of the suite was thoughtfully created with input from JSUMC’s cardiologists, nurses, technicians and other hands-on experts with spaces structured to promote efficiency and provide the best experience for patients and their families.
JSUMC is the recipient of several national designations from the American College of Cardiology (ACC), recognizing high-quality cardiovascular care. They include; HeartCare Center - National Distinction of Excellence; NCDR Chest Pain ̶ MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award; Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI and Resuscitation Accreditation; Cardiac Catheterization Lab Accreditation with PCI, and Heart Failure Accreditation with Outpatient Services.
