Attend Aprils Special Hackensack Medical and Dental Staff Meeting

What You Need to Know

Sarah Timmapuri, M.D., and Thomas Salazer, M.D., Co-Presidents of the Medical and Dental Staff, urge all HUMC Medical Staff members who wish to comment on an updated version of our Hackensack University Medical Center Rules and Regulations (R&R) to attend a special meeting of the Medical and Dental Staff on April 30, from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., in the Research Building Lecture Hall.

The MEC is expected to take a final vote on the R&R on May 7, 2019.

Background Information

We have continued to address the need for an updated version of our R&R ever since Hackensack University Medical Center adopted the Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) Network Bylaws in 2018. The R&R supplement the HMH Bylaws and are specific to HUMC.

As many of you know, to achieve this goal, we've contracted with consulting firm The Greeley Company to assist in this process. We created an R&R Task Force with very broad physician representation among our Medical Staff to help in this process and we have received a great deal of feedback along the way.

The most recent version was again sent to the Constitution and Bylaws/Rules and Regulations Committee, the Department Chairs, MEC standing committee chairs and all members of the MEC for additional feedback and recommendations.

Within the next few days, we will forward the latest updated version of the R&R to our entire Medical Staff for review. The opinions of the Medical Staff are essential in these governance documents.
