Meet the Norths New Chief Quality and Patient Safety Officer

Martha Radford, M.D., FACC, FAHA is Hackensack Meridian Health's new Chief Quality and Patient Safety Officer for the North Region.

Welcome Martha Radford, M.D., FACC, FAHA as Hackensack Meridian Health’s (HMH) new Chief Quality and Patient Safety Officer for the North Region. Dr. Radford joins HMH from NYU Langone Health where she served as Chief Quality Officer and Senior Clinical Quality Advisor.

Dr. Radford has dedicated her entire career to quality improvement. In 1993, she worked as a consultant to the Health Care Financing Administration (now the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services) and its Cooperative Cardiovascular Project. She then served as Yale New Haven Health System’s Director of Clinical Quality from 1998 to 2005 before joining NYU Langone Health.

Dr. Radford has served on the faculty of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Yale School of Medicine, and the NYU School of Medicine where she most recently taught as Professor of Medicine and Professor of Population Health. She has actively collaborated with outcomes research groups at Yale University, Washington University in St. Louis, and NYU School of Medicine, focusing on effectiveness and outcomes of care as well as organizational change management. She has also co-authored more than 150 peer-reviewed articles. 

Dr. Radford received her Bachelor of Science in genetics and her Master’s in molecular biology from the University of California, Berkeley. She attended Harvard Medical School, training in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and in cardiovascular disease at Duke University Medical Center. 

Dr. Radford begins on February 3 and will report to Carol Barsky, M.D., MBA, executive vice president and chief quality officer.
