Hackensack Meridian Health Announces 2024 Board Officers

Hackensack Meridian Health announced its new slate of board leaders serving on the Hackensack Meridian Health Board of Trustees, the HMH Hospitals Corporation Board and the Hackensack Meridian Ambulatory Care Board. Keith Banks, Vice Chair at Bank of America, will now serve as chair of the Hackensack Meridian Health Board of Trustees. He previously served as vice chairman of the Board of Trustees and co-chair of the HMH Foundation Board. Mr. Banks began his board service with Hackensack University Health Network in 2015, prior to the formation of Hackensack Meridian Health. Frank L. Fekete, CPA, who served as chair since 2020 and oversaw major advances across the network, including the network’s coordinated and effective COVID-19 response, will now serve as immediate past chair.   • Keith Banks is the chair of the Hackensack Meridian Health Board of Trustees. Mr. Banks has 43 years in financial services and is currently Vice Chair at Bank of America.  He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Rutgers University and his MBA in finance from Columbia Business School. In 2019, Mr. Banks was inducted into the Rutgers Hall of Distinguished Alumni.
  • Kathleen T. Ellis is the vice chair of the Hackensack Meridian Health Board of Trustees. She is a retired Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, New Jersey Natural Gas Company.
  • James (Jay) J. Galeota is the secretary of the Hackensack Meridian Health Board of Trustees. He is President and Chief Executive Officer, Kallyope.
  • Peter S. Reinhart, Esq., is the treasurer of the Hackensack Meridian Health Board of Trustees. Mr. Reinhart is Executive Vice President, Mixed Use and Land, R. J. Brunelli & Co.
  • Frank L. Fekete, CPA, is the immediate past chair of the Hackensack Meridian Health Board of Trustees. Mr. Fekete is managing partner of Mandel, Fekete & Bloom, CPAs, a certified public accounting firm based in Jersey City, New Jersey. He has been with the firm for more than 30 years and has served as its managing partner since 1984.

HMH Hospitals Corporation Board
  • Shawn Reynolds is the chair of the HMH Hospitals Corporation Board. Mr. Reynolds is Portfolio Manager of Van Eck Securities Corporation. He currently serves as Portfolio Manager for Van Eck’s Global Resources, Environmental Sustainability and Future of Food funds where he is responsible for company research and portfolio construction. He received an undergraduate degree from Cornell University, a graduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Columbia School of Business.
  • Frank J. Vuono is the vice chair of the HMH Hospitals Corporation Board. He is the Partner Emeritus and Co-Founder of 16W Marketing, LLC.
  • Thomas Lake, M.D., is the secretary of the HMH Hospitals Corporation Board. Dr. Lake is a colorectal surgery specialist. He is affiliated with medical facilities including Jersey Shore University Medical Center and Ocean University Medical Center.
  • Luke Kealy, Esq., is the treasurer of the HMH Hospitals Corporation Board. He is a partner at Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis, LLP. Mr. Kealy’s practice is focused on the litigation of complex commercial matters.
  • Rosemarie J. Sorce is the immediate past chair of the HMH Hospitals Corporation Board. She is the office manager of Sorce Companies, a real estate management company based in Hackensack, New Jersey.

Hackensack Meridian Ambulatory Care Board
  • Christopher Maher is the chair of the Hackensack Meridian Ambulatory Care Board. Mr. Maher serves as the chairman, president and chief executive officer of OceanFirst Financial Corporation and OceanFirst Bank. He has a graduate certificate in banking from the Consumer Bankers Association and the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Upsala College.
  • Katherine York is the secretary of the Hackensack Meridian Ambulatory Care Board. Ms. York serves as associate state director of Advocacy for AARP’s New Jersey office and has more than 20 years of experience in the field of aging, ranging from direct care to academia.
  • James M. Bollerman is the treasurer of the Hackensack Meridian Ambulatory Care Board. Mr. Bollerman serves as the president of Bollerman Companies and has been directly involved with the planning, construction and development of over 17 million square feet of commercial, industrial and residential space in New Jersey during his nearly 40-year business career.
