HMH Nursing Opens Nominations for 2023 Awards

Nominations are now open for the 2023 annual nursing award programs described below. All HMH leaders and team members are encouraged to submit nominations. Nurses, clinical partners and physicians across all HMH settings (i.e. acute care, post-acute care, long term care, home care, ambulatory practices) are eligible. Nominations for these programs must be submitted by Friday, March 10 at 5 p.m. Awards will be presented during National Nurses Week - May 6 - May 12, 2023.

Magnet®/Pathway to Excellence® Award Program

• Launched in 2020, the Magnet®/Pathway to Excellence® Award Program is an opportunity to provide meaningful recognition to exemplary nurses across the network.
• Nominations may be submitted for nurses in 5 categories that align with the Magnet® model – transformational leadership, empirical outcomes, exemplary professional practice, new knowledge and innovation, and structural empowerment. 
• Each campus/entity has the opportunity to select winners in these 5 categories, and network winners are then chosen from this group.

Clinical Partners Award Program

• Launched in 2021, the Clinical Partners Award Program is an opportunity to honor care partners across the network who play such a vital role in the delivery of high quality services and care.
• Nominations may be submitted for team members in 5 award categories that align with the 5 C’s - courageous, collaborative, compassionate, connected and creative. 
• Examples of eligible nominees include patient care technicians, patient care associates, certified nursing assistants, certified medical assistants, certified home health aides, scrub techs, unit secretaries, monitor techs, ETC clerks, patient safety attendants, pharmacy techs, transporters, and environmental services aides. 
• Each campus/entity has the opportunity to select winners in these 5 categories, and network winners are then chosen from this group.

Exemplary Physician Partnership Award Program 

• Launched in 2022, this award program was created to recognize physicians who exhibit a steadfast commitment to collaboration with nursing and exemplify distinction in advancing partnerships to provide the highest quality of patient care. 
• Nominations may be submitted for a physician with privileges at any HMH entity.
• Nominations must: include an example showcasing a collaborative effort with a nurse or nursing team to achieve a common goal or outcome; reference how the nominee demonstrates a high degree of excellence, maintains the highest standards, and achieves these standards by continually measuring and improving outcomes in their area of expertise; and, describe how the nominee demonstrates empathy and true concern for patients and their family members and provides a caring and supportive environment for patients, families and fellow caregivers. 
• One winner will be selected by each HMH entity, and one network winner will then be selected from this group.
